At Quora Group, we know that robust infrastructure is the backbone of essential public services—especially in healthcare. That’s why we’re proud to share the story behind our recent critical upgrade at a local hospital’s heating plant, where our expertise was engaged right from the design stage.

From Design to Delivery: A Comprehensive Approach

Brought in at the outset, Quora Group worked closely with the hospital’s team to design and install a brand-new oil storage and supply network to serve the site’s dual fuel boilers. Our early involvement ensured that every aspect of the system was tailored to the hospital’s unique operational needs and compliance requirements.

Maintaining Operations: Zero Downtime Commitment

A key challenge was to carry out the entire installation while keeping all heating services live—guaranteeing uninterrupted comfort and safety for patients and staff. This required meticulous planning and coordination, as well as phased works to avoid any disruption to the hospital’s critical operations.

  • Redundant Service Removal: We began by stripping out all obsolete and redundant services, clearing the way for the new installation.
  • New Oil Pump & Pipework: Our team installed a purpose-made oil pump and a completely new oil distribution pipework network, ensuring reliable and efficient fuel delivery to the dual fuel boilers.
  • Advanced Control Systems: We supplied and installed a new oil and boiler control system, providing the facilities management team with modern, intuitive controls for optimal performance and safety.
  • Flue Installation: A new, compliant flue was fitted for the dual fuel boilers, ensuring safe and efficient exhaust of combustion gases and meeting the latest environmental standards.
  • Live Commissioning: All systems were fully commissioned and rigorously tested while the hospital remained operational, ensuring everything functioned flawlessly before handover to the client.

With the mechanical works complete, we integrated the new plant into the hospital’s Building Management System (BMS). This smart upgrade empowers the hospital to optimize energy use, manage budgets, and reduce environmental impact—delivering long-term value and resilience.

In a sector where 24/7 reliability is non-negotiable, our end-to-end approach—from design and installation to commissioning and smart controls—ensures the hospital’s critical systems are robust, compliant, and future-ready.

It’s been a fantastic team effort, and we’re delighted to have supported such a vital institution. Getting critical systems right is what we do best.
