As the UK accelerates its push toward a greener future, Quora Group supports clean energy growth, and is proud to be delivering the mechanical package for a major new development in Cramlington, a project poised to play a key role in supporting the clean energy sector in the North East.
Currently under construction at Nelson Park, the new 43,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, referred to as Plot Two, is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025. Designed with advanced sustainability features, the site is being developed for UK Land Estates, with Castle appointed as the principal contractor. Quora Group is honoured to be delivering the mechanical works, contributing our engineering expertise to a project that will help set a new benchmark for green industrial development.
A Facility with Sustainability at Its Core
Plot Two is more than a building. It’s a vision for a cleaner, more efficient industrial future. The site will include:
- A 161kWp photovoltaic array to harness solar energy
- EV charging infrastructure for electric vehicles
- A sustainable drainage system, including swales, a retention pond, and permeable paving to prevent flooding
- High-efficiency heating and lighting systems
- Ecological considerations, with the installation of bat and bird boxes to support biodiversity
These measures reflect a strong commitment to sustainability, and Quora Group is proud to be part of a team helping turn these ambitions into reality.
Quora Group’s Mechanical Expertise on Show
As the mechanical delivery partner, Quora Group is providing a full mechanical package on the project, including:
- Domestic water systems and above-ground drainage
- Air conditioning and ventilation systems
- Specialist mechanical installations tailored for a modern, energy-conscious facility
Our Operations Director Liam Stott and Project Manager Jim DaPrato recently visited the site to inspect progress and were impressed by the exceptional standard of workmanship on display. This project is shaping up to be a flagship for our team, showcasing not only our technical expertise, but also our ability to collaborate effectively in delivering complex, sustainability-driven developments.
Contributing to Regional Growth and a Cleaner Future
Plot Two represents more than a single development. It’s a boost to Northumberland’s economic landscape and a reflection of the North East’s growing leadership in the clean energy sector.
Quora Group is proud to support this momentum by delivering reliable, high-performance MEP solutions that contribute directly to the UK’s sustainability goals. With roots firmly in the North East and a growing national presence, we remain committed to projects that make a positive environmental and economic impact.
Stay tuned for more updates as the build progresses, and as Quora Group continues to power the next generation of clean, sustainable infrastructure in the UK.
