At Quora Group, we take pride in giving back to our local community and supporting organisations that make a tangible difference. This Christmas season, we extended our support to The Bay Foodbank and, for the first time, to the Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter. These remarkable charities hold a special place in our hearts and align closely with our values as a community-focused company.

Why These Charities?

Our partnership with The Bay Foodbank started approximately four years ago. Located close to our offices in Meadowell, North Shields, The Bay Foodbank is the sole provider of food assistance for the entire North Tyneside region. With food insecurity becoming a pressing issue globally and locally, it was a cause we felt compelled to support. Over the years, our employees have contributed generously, donating food and essential items to help families access nutritious meals during difficult times.

This year, we decided to expand our efforts by supporting the Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter. As a dog-and-cat-loving company with our very own office mascot, this choice felt like a natural extension of our values. We rallied together to collect and donate items that would directly benefit the shelter’s furry residents, ensuring they, too, receive some much-needed care and support.

A Shared Commitment to the Community

Supporting The Bay Foodbank aligns deeply with our commitment to improving the lives of those in North Tyneside, where we are based. Knowing that our contributions help families in our community makes the effort even more meaningful. Similarly, our support for the Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter demonstrates our compassion for animals and the important role they play in our lives.

Our donations, particularly during the holiday season, aim to address immediate needs while raising awareness about these vital causes. Sharing our efforts on social platforms helps draw attention to the growing demand for donations, inspiring others to contribute and make a difference.

Moments That Matter

Over the years, we’ve had memorable moments that underscore the importance of our contributions. Last Christmas, Liam Stott, Operational Director, and Nadia Firth, HR Manager, visited The Bay Foodbank and learned from a volunteer how critical donations have become. In the past, Christmas contributions would last up to four months, but increased reliance on foodbanks has shortened this duration significantly. Hearing this was a poignant reminder of the growing need for community support and the impact our efforts can have.

Gratitude and Looking Ahead

The Bay Foodbank has always expressed immense gratitude for our donations, particularly during the festive season when demand peaks. This feedback motivates us to continue our support and encourages others to get involved. We hope that our collective efforts not only provide immediate relief but also foster a culture of compassion and community within our organisation and beyond.

As we reflect on our experiences, we remain committed to making a positive impact. Supporting these charities has not only brought us together as a team but has also strengthened our bond with the local community. We encourage everyone to explore these incredible organisations and consider making a donation—every contribution, no matter how small, can make a big difference.
